It should come as no surprise that the man who once suggested the disabled should just be left to die, would lack the compassion needed to be an advocate for America's most vulnerable citizens. 

Today, Donald Trump and the Republican Party released their new budget plan. In it, enormous cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, which would target specifically America's poorest, most needy, and most destitute. Why the cuts? To finance what will inevitably be a massive $4.5 trillion tax cut for Elon Musk and  friends, America's richest Americans. 


The 20% 

The Republican Party seek to cut Medicaid by $880 billion, a move which would effectively shut the program down, despite nearly 20% of all Americans being covered by the government insurance program. The GOP's budget also seeks to cut SNAP by 20%. This comes at a time when consumer prices and inflation are back on the rise in dramatic fashion. Since Trump took power, the price of eggs alone has risen by nearly 20%. With Trump's tariffs yet to fully take effect, all of this is bound to get much worse and when it does, the poorest Americans will pay the highest cost. Even Trump, a notorious braggard and liar, who promised to fix grocery prices and inflation on day one of his "dictatorship," is singing a different tune now. According to the President, 

"Rome wasn't built in a day. All of that is going to take a bit of time."

When Trump's press secretary Karen Leavitt was asked to provide a timeline for when Americans will see cheaper prices at the grocery store, she responded, 

"I don't have a timeline." 

The proposed $880 billion cut to Medicaid is nearly the program's entire budget and would enable care for America's poorest a virtual impossibility. 80 million people would essentially be on their own and left to die by this new American Reich. Trump's official healthcare plan is now officially, "Let them die." 

Cruelty was always the point. 

Democrats Rendered Ineffective 

And don't expect the Democrats to come to the rescue, either. Americans had that opportunity at the voting booth on election day, a task they failed miserably even with democracy on the line. The Republicans now have a majority in the White House, the halls of Congress, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. Besides, they mean to bypass the Democratic Party altogether to get their heinous budget passed. The GOP aim to pass their budget with a simple reconciliation process, bypassing any potential Democratic filibuster.

Trump hasn't even been president for a month yet and Americans are already suffering profoundly. Now a program in which 1 in 10 veterans depend on is set to be moonlit into oblivion. Hungry children will starve and Americans will die by the millions. And for what? Because Joe Rogan told them Joe Biden was too old? Because Tucker Carlson invoked the flames of their anger over whether Kamala Harris actually did work at a McDonalds as a teenager? 


Blood-Stained Crisis

We are well past the point of a constitutional crisis. That happened the moment the unelected Elon Musk was allowed to peruse the private data of millions of Americans and bypass congress to cut funding at will. A constitutional crisis happened when Russian asset Tulsi Gabbard was elected head of National Security by a complicit GOP. Every one of these people must be held accountable in new ways. The old ways failed each of us. They certainly failed the millions of the poorest Americans who have just been genocided by the cruelest regime in American history. Every American who supported such a fascist travesty now has blood on their hands. Those of us tasked with watching this era of cruelty must never forget the sordid history of America's embrace of fascist ideology.  

Don't expect repentance or a yearning for forgiveness, either. Instead Trump's most ardent supporters are doubling down, even referring to Trump as a literal god. Paula White, the president's new faith leader, recently claimed that questioning Donald Trump was the same as questioning God himself. 

In Trump's name, new secretary of defense Pete Hegseth wants to build the third temple in Jerusalem near the new Trump Hotel and Resort in Gaza. 


At Mar-A-Lago, a golden-hoofed idol has been put on display. Wrapped in $100 bills that replace "in God we trust," with "in Trump we trust," honoring the man who couldn't even bother putting his hand on the Bible to take his oath of office.



Irony is lost on the "christians" who support the convicted rapist in chief. In doing so, they betray the very people Jesus most identified with, the "least of these," of whom Christ said, "insomuch as ye have done unto them, ye have also done unto me." MAGA will forever bear stained hands, for on them is now permanently the blood of the poor.
