Disgrace in the White House: Donald Trump Betrays Democracy

Donald Trump took some time off from destroying the American economy to attack one of the U.S.' greatest and most desperate allies in Ukraine. While America's first quarter earnings are expected to decline into negative territories and housing sales hit an all-time low, the price of eggs have hit an all-time high with the price of gas also steadily increasing into record territory. 

The Budapest Memorandum

Trump isn't solely focused on dismantling the American economy. Instead, he turns his quickly dissipating attention onto crippling the long-held American alliance with Ukraine, an ally to whom the United States bears a great responsibility. In 1994, America promised to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression in the Budapest Memorandum. In return for our friendship and our promises, Ukraine willingly gave up their entire nuclear arsenal. Thus far, America has not lived up to its responsibility, as we inch closer to an outright alliance with Putin's Russia. 

The New Tan Suit

Today, Trump and his twisted, inbred, minion J.D. Vance met with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskyy in what was supposed to be the signing of a historic treaty between the two countries. Instead, the American president and vice president chose fealty and subservience to Vladimir Putin in what could only be described as a media ambush. The "president" hand-selected the reporters who would be at the meeting, barring from the room the familiar Associated Press. Instead, they were replaced by Russian propaganda agents, who badgered Zelensky on not dressing formally, to which the president of Ukraine responded, 

"I will wear a costume after this war is finished."

It is said that Trump began attacking Zelenskyy about his attire from the moment the leader of Ukraine arrived. Then the "president," who had been previously impeached for attempting to extort Ukraine and Vladimir Zelenskyy showed the entire world his true colors. They are still red, white, and blue, just of a more Soviet variety. 

Not Playing Cards 

The meeting, which could have been scripted by Vladimir Putin himself, was arguably the biggest disgrace in American history, which says a lot considering this administration specializes in embarrassing disgraces. Both Trump and Vance tag-teamed Zelensky, repeatedly badgering him, interrupting him, and belittling the Ukrainian war hero. Despite this administration's clear violation of the Budapest Accord, Vance repeatedly interrupted the leader of Ukraine to chastise him for not showing proper appreciation. Trump screamed at Zelenskyy, even going as far as to push him. The two American idiots repeatedly rehashed Kremlin talking points, refusing to allow Zelenskyy to answer uninterrupted. Vance even went as far as to say that there were no men left to fight in Ukraine. Zelenskyy pointed out that neither he nor Trump had ever been there to visit, so how would they even know? 

Decorum goes out the window with this administration. Trump, ever the petulant man-child, screamed, attacking Barack Obama and loudly declaring his predecessor, Joe Biden, to be "stupid." Forgetting that Zelenskyy is a war hero, he unsuccessfully attempted to scare the leader of Ukraine into submission, 

"You've allowed yourself to be in a very bad position. You're not in a good position. You don't have the cards right now.,"

Trump pointed his finger at Zelenskyy, as he continued screaming angrily like an old man in need of his daily medication or his diaper changed. 

Zelensky replied, 

"I'm not playing cards."

World War III

While he has never said a negative word about Vladimir Putin, reserving instead only high praise for the Russian dictator, Donald Trump continued berating America's democratic ally, 

"You're playing with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War III. You're gambling with World War III and what you're doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country."

No reporter dared ask Trump whose side America would be on, if such an event were ever to occur, but those in the know know. 

Vance, ever chirping like Trump's submissive little parrot, then accused Zelensky of campaigning for Kamala Harris. Speaking of Harris, here is what she warned about Trump and Russia on that very campaign trail, 

"I believe the reason why Donald Trump says this war will end within 24 hours is because he will just give it up." 

Trump continued, as if Putin's hand was far up his fat ass puppeteering, 

"Your country is in big trouble. You're not winning. You're not winning this. You have a damn good chance of coming out OK because of us.....if you didn't have our military equipment this war would have been over in two weeks."

Someone should tell Dear Leader that if Ukraine doesn't win, democracy loses, and so does America. 

Zelenskyy replied that he had heard it all before, even being told from Putin that the war would end in three days. Yet here we are three years later. 

The great British hero of World War II, Winston Churchill, once said, 

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war."

Trump has likewise chosen dishonor. 

The New American Dictatorship

The meeting was at very best an unmitigated disaster and at worst a sign of things to come, in a world where America allies itself with the very worst dictators in the world, the likes of Vladimir Putin, Victor Orban, and Kim Jon Un, over our most trusted allies. 

No deal was signed obviously. Instead, Trump announced that America will be halting support for the rebuilding of Ukraine's energy grid, which was taken out in violation of the Geneva Convention by the same Russians who installed Trump into the White House.

The Trump administration has shown clear allegiance to Russia since 2016, but now with no other election on the horizon (Trump has promised a third team despite it being unconstitutional) this administration's support from Russia is even more evident. What was once done in the darkness is now done by the light of day. 

In the United Nations, America refused to identify Russia as an invading aggressor against Ukraine and voted with Russia against Ukraine and every other free nation in the world. Drunken U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has announced that he has ordered U.S. Cyber Command to stand down against Russia. All this while Russian assets like Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel dismantle our intelligence agencies and Elon Musk destroys America's social safety nets. Even if Trump ever leaves office, at what cost? And will these monsters in the White House have forever altered America's democracy at behest of their puppet master Vladimir Putin. One day, a nuclear bomb may go off in an American city and it will be because of the information received from these traitorous Russian simps. 

How did Trump's handlers in Russia respond to today's debacle? Former Russian "president" and Putin-bitch Dmitry Medvedev said, 

"The insolent pig [Zelenskyy] finally got a proper slap down in the Oval Office. And Donald Trump is right: The Kiev regime is 'gambling with World War III.'" 

Somewhere in Russia, Vladimir Putin is celebrating. 

Sane Republicans to the Rescue?

Don't expect any assistance from the Republicans either. The same party who emboldened Trump's new Reich have already come out in support of the president. Lady Lindsey Graham said of the now infamous meeting between Trump and Zelensky, 

"Unfortunately, America was disrespected and the deal is off. I've never been more proud of President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance for standing up for America first." 

Graham now contends that Zelenskyy must resign in order for peace talks to resume. 

While MAGA Republicans continue to capitulate to Russia, leaders around the world are singing a different tune. Leaders of every free and civilized nation came to Zelensky's defense in full support of Ukraine. Meanwhile Donald Trump tweeted, 

"I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don't want advantage. I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace."

More like, "He can come back when he is ready to show the same fealty I show Vladimir Putin." And Zelenskyy won't be back. Increasingly, America will lose allies until the MAGA movement transforms America into an isolationist nation while other countries fight to influence the world stage. It will benefit Russia and China, all while making things much more difficult for our allies in Ukraine and Europe. 

Under the Trump dictatorship, America loses. It loses its allies, its economy, its social safety net, its influence, its future, and ultimately its democracy. Once the envy of the free world, America becomes a cautionary tale in the exploits of the dumb and misled. 

Ukraine's future becomes darker without an American ally, but it's far from futile. In this new era of American silence on the world stage, Europe will heroically rise to the occasion and offer more in support. America will disappear, becoming an afterthought, the Western version of Belarus, and nothing more than a country that submits to the whims of Vladimir Putin. Trump will increasingly mirror Putin until one day he dies or is removed from power. At that time, let's hope that there is enough of an America still left standing to recover and that she doesn't perish forever in the ashes MAGA has made. 

The Savior of the People 

When it comes to Zelenskyy, this writer trusts the opinion of the D-Day veteran who pulled the Ukrainian hero close and said, 

"You're the savior of the people. You're my hero."

This veteran boldly fought against fascists in World War II. He did not capitulate to them as Trump does. Zelenskyy, ever a gracious and humble leader, replied, 

"No, no, you saved Europe. You are our hero." 

The veteran then promised to pray for Zelenskyy. In these times, when democracy and freedom are under attack, we should all follow suit. 


One thing is certain, we should trust heroes like this instead of professional conmen like the bone-spurred grifter in the White House. Trump hasn't ever fought for anything, his entire life an exercise in privilege. Everything Trump has has been given to him and/or stolen. He doesn't measure up to men like Zelenskyy because such heroes risk everything for freedom and democracy. They don't offer it on an auction block to the highest and most nefarious bidder. They aren't paid whores like the man who currently occupies the White House. 

Congressmen Mike Levin said of today's disgraceful encounter, 

"My grandfather and the Greatest Generation did not fight in World War II to see our country side with murderous thugs like Putin. This is a disgrace."

A disgrace. Indeed it is.
