What Trump Thinks of Immigrants

The lovely and incomparable Donald J. Trump recently made headlines when he did what he's been doing over the past decade, referring to immigrants in bigoted and derogatory terms. According to the convicted rapist Trump, 

"Democrats say, 'Please don't call them animals, they're humans. I said, 'No, they're not humans, they're animals.'"

Trump made the Hitler-esque statement surrounded by police officers, whose union just endorsed the candidate with 91 inditements. Trump is the chosen GOP presidential candidate, the so-called party of "law & order."

Fox News & the Manipulation of Fear 

For the Republicans, the border is the primary way to motivate their terrified and bigoted base. Readers may remember the Mexican caravan that was allegedly encroaching on the southern border just in time for the 2020 election. Fox News terrified viewers with frequent breaking reports tracking the movement of asylum-seeking Mexican migrants, all based entirely on fear. In typical fashion, the caravan never arrived and Faux News quickly moved on to using other means to terrify Republican voters into typical docile submission. 

2024 is an election year and with less than seven months to go before America votes to either re-elect President Biden or hand the keys back to Russian asset Trump, the GOP is stirring things up again through Fox News and the massive right-wing media empire. 

Driven by media inspired fear, the Democrats agreed in principle to a conservative bill that would fully fund the border. The sweeping $118 billion dollar immigration bill would have been the most comprehensive border reform bill in history, but it was shelved by Speaker Mike Johnson. Why? The former president decided to play crybaby and throw a massive temper tantrum over the bill's passing. Trump, who believes all immigrants are animals, decided to overrule the actual elected officials in his party and demand that the bill be shelved. Of course, Speaker Johnson obliged.

Although the bill, which already passed in the United States Senate, would give the Republican Party what it had previously claimed it wanted and provide for a much more secure border, the former guy felt it wouldn't be beneficial politically to hand Joe Biden such a big win in an election year. 

Ever subservient, the GOP obeyed their orange master and shelved the bill, which begs the question: If something so drastically needed can be so easily shelved, was it ever the threat Republicans made it out to be in the first place? Or did Republicans just forsake American safety simply because it was an election years. 

In a rare moment of honesty, Trump gloated, 

"I'll fight it all the way. A lot of the senators are trying to say, respectfully, they're blaming it on me. I say, 'That's OK. Please blame it on me, please!'"

How Russia Uses the Border as Hybrid Warfare 

As it is with most crisis in the modern world, Russia's nefarious hands are all over the "border crisis," ever manipulating and twisting the narrative like a malevolent puppet master. Russia has been manufacturing border crisis all over the world, by capitalizing on the suffering of migrants to draw them to the border, and then exaggerating the crisis through media outlets like Fox News. 

According to United 24 Media, 

"The issue of migrants is a painful one for many countries including the U.S. Now Russia has made them a tool for its hybrid warfare in Europe."

After Finland joined NATO in 2023, Putin promised that, "there will be problems," and just a few months afterwards, Finland faced an unprecedented surge of migrants. Asylum seekers rose thirty times their previous highs and emerged at all eight Finnish border crossings with Russia. Migrants arrived with no documents and were provided bicycles by Russian border guards. In response, Finland was forced to close their entire eastern border. 

Something similar happened in 2021, this time with Belarus' help. The Russian ally helped send a wave of migrants from as far as Iraq and Syria to the Polish border. Belarus' border guards offered the migrants shears to cut through the Polish border fences. European Council President, Charles Michel, assessed the situation as both dire and, "a brutal hybrid attack on our EU borders." Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki went further, "Lukashenko's regime uses civilians as weapons in modern hybrid war." In 2021 alone, 40,000 illegal border crossings were stopped by Polish border patrol in Warsaw. European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen called it, "a hybrid attack of the authoritarian regime to try to destabilize democratic neighbors." 

As It Is With The Rest of the World, So It Is With America

Could something similar be happening here in America where the incentive is far greater for Russia? Russia very well may be using immigrants to crash the American border in the same way they did in their attack of Poland and Finland. If American democracy was destabilized due to the border threat, Ukraine would lose its primary source of funding against Russian aggression, and in turn, Russia would win the war.
