MAGA Meltdown Over Ukraine Aid
Moscow Marge and MAGA world in full meltdown. |
History Made
The rational wing of the Republican party and the entire Democratic party came together to pass a long-awaited historic foreign aid bill. The bill's passage, which was fraught with six months of delays and GOP infighting, gives desperately needed aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The $95 billion package sees $61 billion going to Ukraine, which has faced critical losses in both infrastructure and civilian lives in recent months, while awaiting promised help from their American allies. The bill is expected to pass in the Senate next week and signed immediately thereafter by President Joe Biden. Ukraine could see weaponry arrive within a few days after the bill is signed by the President.
While this was a historic moment for both Ukraine and the United States, it was also one of the biggest moments in history for democracy, which wasn't lost on the House floor, as a jubilant congress waved Ukrainian flags in support of their democratic ally.
MAGA Incensed
Still, MAGA wasn't happy and nothing makes the MAGA movement more incensed then bipartisan cooperation. It was the MAGA movement, led by the former president Donald Trump, that delayed passage of the bill, threatening the removal of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson in the process. For whatever reason, whether they were noble or not we will likely never know, Speaker Johnson appears to have finally come to his senses, at least for the time being,
"My philosophy is you do the right thing and you let the chips fall where they may. If I operated out of fear of a motion to vacate, I would never be able to do my job."
Speaker Johnson may have done the right thing this time, but it is worth noting that the majority of Republicans in the House did vote against the bill. Its passage was ensured by the entirety of the Democratic congressional body and sensible Republicans, who finally put country over party. It was a great moment that showed strength in the face of adversity, but also demonstrated that American government can still work when the parties compromise and come together for the greater good.
Those are the adults in the room. The children, however, are absolutely enraged. Led by 'Moscow Marge,' a.k.a. Marjorie Taylor-Greene, the rock has hit the pack of wolves and they are yelping with Russian fervor. Greene had the following to say upon the bill's passage,Mike Johnson on the possibility he’ll lose the speakership over a vote on Ukraine aid:

"I'm actually gonna let my colleagues go home and here from their constituents because I think people have been too obsessed with voting for foreign wars and the murder industry.....When you have the strongest, loudest, voices in the Republican movement grassroots furious, calling for Mike Johnson to be vacated, the people here - my colleagues - have not heard the message. So I'm looking forward for them to go home, hearing from the folks back at home, but this is a sell out of America today. When we have members of Congress waving the Ukrainian flag on the House floor when we're doing nothing to secure our border, I think every American in this country should be furious."
"Who's gonna vote for these people? How can you vote for these people? They don't serve our country....This is the third betrayal by Mike Johnson. He delivered a two-part omnibus that funded the Department of Justice with 91 federal indictments against President Trump. He funded the FBI that raided Mara Lago, gave them a brand new FBI building. [Johnson] funded Joe Biden's open border policies that are killing Americans every single day. Then he re-authorized FISA that spied on American citizens, spied on President Trump's campaign and he voted against the warrant requirement, the same warrant requirement that he was for six months ago and then he did this bullshit here on the house floor, foreign war package that does nothing for America. It's unbelievable."
"I'd rather send bullets, than American boys to Ukraine."
Greene went on to call Johnson a "lame duck," and said that if he were to run for Speaker today, he would not have the votes to succeed.
Mike Johnson betrayed America once again.

After doing nothing to secure America’s Southern border, reauthorizing FISA to spy on the American people without a warrant, fully funding Joe Biden’s DOJ that has indicted President Trump 91 times, and giving Biden’s political gestapo a… pic.twitter.com/8ZnQB5ry5j
Ukrainian born Republican congresswoman Victoria Spartz added on the following,
"No promised border security in today's supplemental. From roughly $77 billion slush fund in the Ukrainian supplemental ($61 billion in budget outlays + $16 billion blank check for drawdowns & loans for any foreign country or international organization), only $13.8 billion - somewhat direct military aid. I voted NO."

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman also echoed the Kremlin's talking points on the border, in her opposition to the bill,
"Today I voted against the uni-party in their effort to spend money that we don't have on policies that we don't want. It's clear that the American public wants to secure our own borders, yet we're going to be spending almost $100 billion dollars to secure other country's borders. It's a bad bill. It was a bad process. I'm very upset with the leadership and what they're doing right now. This is not in the best interest of America and it's not in the best interest of Wyoming."
Hageman defeated former Congresswoman Liz Cheney, after Cheney was betrayed by her own party for the unforgiveable sin of standing up to Donald Trump on America's behalf. Cheney brings to attention the point that Ukrainians shouldn't even have had to wait for aid this long,
"Ukrainians fighting on the front lines of freedom should not have had to wait so long for this U.S. aid. Today, 311 members of the House defied Trump & the GOP Putin caucus. They voted to stand for freedom against the evil of Putin & his allies in Iran and around the world."
Love Letters to Putin
MAGA political commentator, Gunther Engleman, literally penned a love letter to Putin on behalf of all Americans,
Dear Putin,
I hope this post finds you well. I wanted to let you know that a majority of Americans do not support the funding of Ukraine.
We do however have a few that believe evertything the US government and media tells them, we call them "sheep." These sheep are incapable of thinking for themselves and lack any common sense.
I ask, don't blame us for the sheep and their actions.
Signed,
Real Americans
There's a Gunther Engleman born every minute. |
All this from a political group that gets the majority of their knowledge on Ukraine directly from 91 time indicted con-man Donald Trump. In fact, Republicans, entirely brainwashed by the Russian propaganda machine, trust Trump more than those who are actually on the ground in Ukraine.
Trump advisor, Steve Bannon, who wants to imprison Democrats if Trump is re-elected, echoed Engleman's points and called for the removal of Speaker Johnson,
"Mike Johnson has not met the moment and Mike Johnson must go just like Kevin McCarthy. We have to show, as an example, that you're going to be held accountable."

The bill heads its way to the Senate where it will face some opposition from an increasingly insignificant (but vocal) minority. Increasingly MAGA Mike Lee, Senator from Utah, has already come out against the bill, urging his colleagues to vote now on what he calls a "warmonger wish list." One of Putin's most loyal supporters, Senator Rand Paul has already come out ahead of the Senate's inevitable passage, promising to delay the bill for as long as possible. We'll let the late Senator John McCain answer Paul's objections.

Russian Reaction
"It was the voting of joyful U.S. bastards to continue the Civil War of the separated people of our once united country and to increase the number of victims of this war as much as possible. We will, of course, win, despite the $61 billion of bloody dollars that will mostly go down the throat of their insatiable military production complex. Power and truth are with us. But considering the Rusophobic decision that took place I can't help but wish the USA with all sincerity to dive into a new Civil War themselves as quickly as possible. Which, I hope, will be very different from the war between north and south in the 19th century and will be waged using aircraft, tanks, artillery, MLRS, all types of missiles, and other weapons. And which will finally lead to the inglorious collapse of vile evil empire of the 21st century - the United States of America."
Medvedev underestimates the resolve and will of the American people at his own expense.
A United America
The virulent reaction from Russia makes things clear. Yesterday, America came together and America won a historic victory - not just for all Americans, but for the entirety of the free world. As America celebrates and the hope of Ukrainian freedom fighters is restored, one thing remains evident. A united America cannot and will not be defeated. The United States of America will protect its allies and invoke fear in evil throughout the world. Perhaps, a new day has dawned in the United States and around the world. And with the presence of such a magnificent light, darkness shrieks.
